It’s the kind of place where fresh-baked bread arrives endlessly at your table, setting the tone for the feast ahead.
The menu offers a delicious journey through Italian culinary heritage, featuring standout dishes like their famed Chicken Parmigiana—comforting, tender, and topped with perfectly melted cheese—and the tantalizing Eggplant Parmigiana from their celebrated Tour of Chiapparelli. For starters, the Fried Mozzarella wedges are golden and crispy, paired perfectly with robust tomato sauce, while the Bruschetta presents a fresh, vibrant bite of ripe tomatoes atop grilled bread, delivering a bright contrast to richer mains.
Seafood enthusiasts will delight in the Seafood Ravioli, where delicate pasta pillows envelop a sumptuous blend of sea flavors, and those drawn to pasta classics can savor the Drooling Gnocchi—pillowy, buttery, and tossed in a sauce that's both rich and comforting. The house-crafted Penne Alla Vodka with Chicken strikes a wonderful balance of creamy, tangy tomato sauce with tender slices of chicken, while the Orecchiette Broccoli Rabe and Sausage offers a savory, slightly bitter bite that's beautifully complemented by the sizzle of Italian sausage.
Lunch offerings shine equally brightly, whether you opt for the hearty Italian Wedding Soup with its delicate chicken broth, pastini, and tiny meatballs—hailed by diners as the best around—or the crisp, flavorful Fried Calamari that arrives perfectly golden with a tender bite inside. The pizza selections, including the classic Margherita with fresh mozzarella and fragrant basil, or the robust Godfather loaded with sausage, salami, and capicola, bring the authenticity of Italian dough and sauce to vibrant life.
Chiapparelli’s also boasts a lineup of house-baked Italian subs, from the savory Sausage & Pepper Sub to the indulgent Veal Parm, each delivering bold flavors and freshly baked bread that leaves a lasting impression.
Guests consistently praise the friendly and attentive service, noting how the staff’s warmth enhances the overall dining experience. One visitor found the arancini and the variety of classic dishes deeply satisfying, underscoring the generous portions and the ease of slipping into a relaxed, welcoming environment. The attention to detail in every dish—from the sprinkle of rosemary on their unique cold table bread to the rich finish of a traditional Cannoli or the perfectly textured Tiramisu—shows a dedication to both authenticity and excellence.
Chiapparelli’s is more than just a restaurant; it’s a memory-maker. Long-time patrons marvel at how the lively aroma of freshly baked bread and the comforting embrace of authentic Italian fare can transport them back to cherished family moments. Was seated in the far back corner near the side entrance, at the edge of the bar so didn't get to see the gleaming lights of the main dining room until the end. Tried the arancini and Tour of Chiapparelli. The lasagna was a bit salty for my taste but overall, it was good.. Friendly service. Large portion , and boy they really kept the bread basket coming if you let them.
Service was great, food was food, and the place was very clean. Best wedding soup I've ever had!!!
I don't think you could go wrong with any restaurant in this area but this one does stand out a little more than the others. Fried calamari as an appetizer and a few other items which were really really good. Penny vodka chicken parm dishes are always solid and a good portion size as well. One member in my party had fettuccine Alfredo they thought the Alfredo sauce wasn't exactly up to par but I wouldn't hold that against them at all. I personally have the bait lasagna and that was an excellent lasagna. It was very well balanced between the cheese and the meat and I ordered it would pull it in sauce you can get it with plain sauce either way. Overall a very good food experience and I don't think you could go wrong with any of the venue options including the chicken marsala and I usually get the chicken Louie as well and I'm very satisfied.
To write this without crying feels impossible. My dad loved Chiapparelli’s. He passed last year, and with him I lost my best friend. Today, I celebrated my 37th birthday here, and somehow I felt five years old all over again eating fresh bread and salad, and trying so hard to pick up a Sicilian accent. Ms. Helen was one of my earliest memories of seeing a woman be bold and beautiful .. a red lip, unforgettable perfume, and so much presence. Today, I got to hug her as an adult and tell her just how much her love and kindness meant to me as a child. To the entire Chiapparelli team the staff and the family thank you. Thank you for creating a legacy so beautiful that a 37-year-old version of me could walk through the door and feel five again. Tonight healed a part of my heart that has ached since my dad passed. I can’t wait to return with my children and give them the same memories you’ve given me. Thank you.
After a 6 hr drive dreaming of authentic Italian, we were delighted. Chicken parm, chicken piccata, salad, and mozzarella squares A ++. Cold table bread without EVOO, parm, and rosemarry, not so much. Also a B- on the tiramisu which lacked flavor. Service and atmosphere, A +.
Looking for places in Baltimore's Little Italy this restaurant kept coming up. A short walk from the inner harbor, this little Italian restaurant did not disappoint. Decor rustic and modern at the same time. Service was prompt and friendly, and the restaurant staff had a family-like feel with each other. I had the sausage and peppers appetizer which was a very good portion and could almost have been an entree. Next I had chicken lemon marsala, and because, Baltimore, with lump crab meat and mozzarella melted on top. Pasta side was perfectly al dente. The best part? All of that, with a glass of red wine and dessert was $69. One of the better meals I had during my Baltimore trip and certainly at the best price. There are 4-5 choices to dine in little Italy within a block or so, but definitely consider this gem.
